Whether we like it or not, not all leaders are perfect.

Leadership has generally been seen as a positive force where people will choose to follow leaders who provide direction, motivation, make decisions, have a vision and purpose and most importantly are open to the value their people have to offer.

It has been proven that successful leaders have high levels of behavioural integrity, by this we mean that they align their behaviours with their words.

Most organisations invest heavily in staff development but little in leadership development, leaving a huge gap resulting in poor leaders with limited knowledge and poor team results.

Organisations that do invest in their leaders can achieve the following results;

  1. Stable workforce
  2. Increases staff satisfaction
  3. Decrease in workplace injury and stress
  4. Increased attendance, trust and loyalty
  5. And improved public perception of the company

The reality is that poor leaders affect the company in many ways. If poor leaders are not upskilled or moved on, the negative impact and cost they have to the company grows to such a point that it becomes part of the workplace culture and is very difficult to change.

I have provided two links below. The first is a story by 2 navy Seals regarding teams and leaders and the other video from Roselinde Torres about great leaders

RdL continues to assist organisations across a number of countries and of varying sizes in leadership development with their customised Emerging Leader Program. If you would like more detail then please email or call and we would be happy to share our experiences.
